2.0-3.5m3/H China EDI Stacks MK-3T For High Quality Deionized Water Replenishment
EDI (electrodeionization) technology in ultrapure water equipment, as an important innovation in the field of modern water treatment, not only greatly improves the quality of pure water, but also significantly reduces operating costs and environmental burden. EDI technology cleverly combines the advantages of electrodialysis and ion exchange. By applying a weak electric field, ions in water molecules are prompted to move toward the electrodes, and are continuously removed or converted in the process, without the need for the chemical regeneration process of traditional ion exchange resins.
How EDI Technology Works
The working principle of EDI (electrodeionization) technology lies in the ingenious integration of electrodialysis (ED) and ion exchange (IX) technology to form an efficient and continuous desalination process. Inside the EDI module, the fresh water chamber and the concentrated water chamber are separated by a semipermeable membrane, while ion exchange resin is filled in the fresh water chamber to form a unique "electrically regenerated" ion exchange bed.
The EDI module achieves "self-regeneration" of the ion exchange resin during operation. Due to the effect of the electric field, the ions adsorbed by the resin will be continuously carried by water molecules to the concentrated water chamber for release, thus avoiding the cumbersome steps of regular acid and alkali regeneration in the traditional ion exchange process, which not only reduces the operating cost, but also reduces Environmental pollution.
